With TAPI2FMP
(say "TAPI to FileMaker") you have direct control from your PC
over the telephone. You can take full
advantage of FileMaker's functionality during a call. For instance, you
can extract
all available information about the caller from the database
or record a memo.
Inbound calls
The TAPI2FMP application recognizes incoming calls
and releases the relevant scripts. With the help of external functions
one
is able to read out the data from the TAPI2FMP application and to
transfer it
to FileMaker. For instance, one is able to demand the contact data of
the
caller or make a note of the phone call. Thereby all the information
you need
is immediately on the screen. And for example, if you program a
telephone
protocol you
can easily reconstruct at any time who spoke to whom and when.
Outgoing calls
TAPI2FMP also supports outgoing calls. It
records
the duration of a call and determines the status of a connection, e.g.
TAPI2FMP
recognizes if the line is busy or the dialed number is not attainable
and
forwards this information to FileMaker. Thus telephone lists can be run
automatically.
Registration of call time
TAPI2FMP conveys to FileMaker Pro when a call
was
received and when it ended. The plug-in also transmits the date of the
call and
telephone number of the interlocutor to FileMaker Pro.
Telephone control
TAPI2FMP enables you to completely control the
telephone functions through the PC: dialing a phone number, taking a
call or
disconnecting, all by point-and-click. A special control panel makes
handling TAPI2FMP easy. |
